Kurdistan Region VP welcomes newly appointed German CG to the Region.

On Tuesday, 25 August 2026, Sheikh Jaafar Sheikh Mustafa, Vice President of the Kurdistan Region, received Christian Oelfke, Germany’s newly appointed Consul General to the Kurdistan Region.

During the meeting, Sheikh Jaafar welcomed Olkfe and congratulated him on assuming his new post, wishing him success in his duties. He reaffirmed the Kurdistan Region’s support for further strengthening and expanding relations between Germany and the Kurdistan Region.

For his part, Oelfke expressed his pleasure at taking up his new position in the Kurdistan Region and underscored the importance of maintaining strong diplomatic ties and humanitarian cooperation between Germany and the Kurdistan Region.
