PUK President, New French CG Discuss Erbil-Baghdad Relations

PUK President Bafel Jalal Talabani's meeting with new French CG Emmanuel Mignot.

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received Emmanuel Mignot, the newly appointed French Consul General in the Kurdistan Region, in Dabashan, Sulaymaniyah.

During the meeting, President Bafel congratulated Mignot on his appointment and expressed hope that his tenure would help further strengthen relations between France and the Kurdistan Region.

The two sides also discussed relations between Erbil and Baghdad. President Bafel stressed the importance of ensuring the Kurdistan Region’s constitutional rights and financial entitlements, emphasising that citizens’ livelihoods should not be affected by political disputes.
