PUK President Meets UK National Security Advisor, Stresses Need to Sustain Efforts to Eliminate Terrorism

PUK President Bafel Jalal Talabani's meeting with British National Security Advisor Jonathan Powell.

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received Jonathan Powell, the British National Security Adviser, at President Mam Jalal’s residence in Baghdad.

The meeting focused on security developments in Iraq, the Kurdistan Region and the wider region, with both sides reaffirming the importance of commitment to safeguarding Iraq’s sovereignty and addressing the challenges facing the country.

The discussions also addressed terrorist threats and the activities of extremist groups in the region.

President Bafel emphasised the need to sustain efforts to eliminate the sources of terrorism and confront any threats that could undermine Iraq’s peace and stability.
