President Amedi Stresses Closer Security Coordination Between Baghdad and Erbil

Nizar Amedi, President of the Republic of Iraq, received Jalal Sheikh Naji, Head of the Parastin and Zanyari/Zanyari Agency, on Wednesday.

The meeting focused on the security situation in the Kurdistan Region, with both sides discussing ways to strengthen stability and address existing challenges.

President Amedi stressed the importance of securing the borders and enhancing security cooperation and coordination between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government, particularly in light of ongoing regional developments. He also underlined the need to coordinate efforts and exchange intelligence in the national interest.

For his part, Sheikh Naji briefed the President on the latest security developments in the Kurdistan Region, reaffirming the importance of continued security and intelligence cooperation and intensified efforts to preserve peace and stability across Iraq.
