The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) maintains that the pursuit of unity is the only viable approach to achieving the goals that our nation has set for itself, and it asserts this position in its statement. In order to achieve this goal, the President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), Bafel Jalal Talabani, has been making efforts to promote national unity across all political parties in an attempt to substitute discord with a feeling of collective cohesion.
In accordance with the directives of PUK President Bafel Jalal Talabani, a high-ranking PUK delegation is scheduled to visit the political parties in the Kurdistan Region this week. The primary objective of this visit is to communicate the PUK's aspirations pertaining to service, peace, and unity.
"Unity plays a crucial role in establishing the obligations and responsibilities of the involved parties while also addressing the delicate circumstances faced by the Kurdish people as a whole, with a specific focus on South Kurdistan," Abubakr Haladni, a member of the Kurdistan Islamic Union's leadership, told PUKMEDIA.
According to Haladni, the establishment of unity will have a direct impact on the Kurdish position in Iraq, allowing them to come together and effectively advocate for the rights and financial privileges of the Kurdistan Region's people.
"The Kurds should be united not only in Iraq but also within the Kurdistan Region," Omar Gulpi, a member of the previous term of the Kurdistan Parliament from the Kurdistan Justice Group faction, told PUKMEDIA.
"We believe that creating equity, fighting corruption, and eliminating monopolies in the Kurdistan Region will encourage other parties to support Kurdish unity," Gulpi said.
