Mourners Gather at Turning Point USA HQ After Charlie Kirk’s Death
The investigation into the fatal shooting of activist Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University has gained new momentum, with authorities announcing key developments nearly 24 hours after the attack. The FBI, working alongside local law enforcement, has recovered what it believes is the murder weapon — a high-powered bolt-action rifle — and has collected multiple pieces of forensic evidence, including footprints, a palm print, and forearm imprints.
Surveillance photos released by law enforcement show a person of interest wearing a baseball cap, sunglasses, and a long-sleeved black top. The individual is described as appearing to be college-age. So far, no arrests have been made; two people were briefly detained for questioning but later released. Officials say neither is suspected to be the shooter.
The FBI is offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to the identification and capture of the person responsible. More than 130 tips have been submitted since the shooting. The motive remains unclear, and investigations into surveillance footage, the weapon, and all forensic evidence continue.
Charlie Kirk, aged 31, died after being shot while at an outdoor event — his “Prove Me Wrong” table — held as part of his “American Comeback Tour.” Authorities have described the shooting as a targeted attack.
