Qubad Talabani Warns Targeting Mr Nechirvan Barzani’s Residence in Duhok is a Dangerous Escalation

Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, strongly condemned targeting of Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani's residence in Duhok, stating that it represents a dangerous escalation.

"Targeting Mr Nechirvan Barzani’s residence in Duhok represents a dangerous escalation, and we strongly condemn this incident," Talabani said in a statement on his Facebook page.

"We also remind the federal government [Iraqi government] that outlawed armed groups have become a serious threat to the stability and security of both the Kurdistan Region and Iraq," he added.

"If these perpetrators are not immediately stopped and brought to justice, there is a real risk that they will become an even greater threat to the property of officials and public institutions across other parts of Iraq in the future," he warned.
