Iraqi President Receives Congratulations from World Leaders and International Partners on Assuming Office

Nizar Amedi, President of the Republic of Iraq, has received further congratulatory messages from world leaders, heads of state, as well as international organisations on the occasion of his assumption of office.
Italy
President Amedi received a message of congratulations from Italian President Sergio Mattarella on the occasion of his assuming the presidency of the Republic.
The message reads:
"On the occasion of your assumption of office, I am pleased to extend to Your Excellency, on behalf of the Italian Republic and in my personal capacity, my sincere congratulations and best wishes for success in carrying out this important responsibility.
At a time when the region is facing a profound crisis marked by serious tensions, which have also affected Iraqi territory, the role you are called upon to undertake takes on even greater urgency and significance.
I am confident that Iraq, under your leadership, will continue to strengthen its democratic institutions and advance a political path grounded in dialogue and inclusiveness.
I also wish to reaffirm that Rome will remain firmly at Baghdad’s side in our shared pursuit of lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.
Please accept, Your Excellency, my sincere wishes for your personal health and well-being, and for continued prosperity for the friendly people of Iraq."
Pakistan
President Asif Ali Zardari sent a congratulatory message to President Amedi on his election, wishing him success in his new role. He expressed confidence that Iraq, under President Amedi’s leadership, would continue efforts to achieve stability, progress, and national unity. He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s desire to strengthen fraternal relations and expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Kazakhstan
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also extended his congratulations on President Amedi’s election. He wished him success in fulfilling his duties, which he said would contribute to Iraq’s prosperity and the well-being of its people, while reaffirming Kazakhstan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation across various fields.
United Kingdom
The United Kingdom welcomed the election of President Amedi, expressing its readiness for a new phase of closer cooperation. Hamish Falconer, Minister for the Middle East at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, said the UK looks forward to continued engagement with Iraq’s new leadership to strengthen bilateral relations and support stability and development.
European Council
President of the European Council António Costa also sent a congratulatory message on President Amedi’s assumption of office. He wished him success in his new responsibilities, noting they would help advance the aspirations of the Iraqi people for progress and prosperity. He reaffirmed the European Union’s continued support for Iraq, including efforts to consolidate stability, strengthen sovereignty, and expand prospects for cooperation between both sides.
