Iraqi President Meets Italian Ambassador, Affirms Strong Bilateral Ties

Iraqi President’s meeting with Italian Ambassador.
President of the Republic of Iraq, Nizar Amedi, received Italy’s Ambassador to Iraq, Niccolò Fontana, at the Baghdad Palace.
The Ambassador extended his congratulations on the President’s assumption of office and conveyed his best wishes for success in carrying out his national responsibilities.
The meeting reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries, with the President emphasising the importance of broadening prospects for joint cooperation across various fields, particularly in the economic and investment sectors, in a manner that serves mutual interests. He further affirmed Iraq’s commitment to advancing and strengthening its partnership with Italy in line with the aspirations of the two friendly peoples.
For his part, the Italian Ambassador expressed his country’s appreciation for the level of relations with Iraq, reaffirming his desire to continue bilateral coordination in a way that serves the interests of both nations.
Belarusian President Congratulates President Amedi, Voices Confidence in Stability and National Unity
Iraqi President Nizar Amedi has received a message of congratulations from Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko following his election, with the Belarusian leader expressing confidence in Amedi’s ability to guide the country towards greater stability and national cohesion.
In his message, President Lukashenko conveyed his sincere wishes for success, noting that Amedi’s leadership would contribute to advancing Iraq’s development and prosperity while reinforcing unity and internal stability.
The Belarusian President further reaffirmed his country’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, emphasising the importance of expanding cooperation across a range of sectors and enhancing frameworks for joint engagement.
Lukashenko also stressed that future cooperation would be firmly anchored in the principles of mutual respect and sovereign equality, reflecting a shared determination to deepen constructive dialogue and advance partnership in ways that serve the long-term interests of both countries.
