Kurdistan Region's Minister of Peshmerga Affairs Shoresh Ismail received Colonel John Stone, the United Kingdom's Senior Military Adviser, on Monday, 29 June 2026, where the two sides discussed several key issues.

Minister Ismail reaffirmed the Ministry's commitment to further developing the Kurdistan Peshmerga forces, strengthening their military capabilities, and advancing the military reform process with the aim of building a unified Kurdish national army.

For his part, Colonel Stone reiterated the United Kingdom's continued support for the Ministry of Peshmerga, stressing that Britain would maintain close coordination and strengthen its partnership with the Ministry.
