PUKMEDIA, the official news website of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), has launched Persian and Turkish sections as part of a new initiative to broaden its international reach. With the addition of these services, PUKMEDIA now publishes news and information in six languages: Sorani Kurdish, Kurmanci Kurdish, Arabic, English, Persian and Turkish. A Russian-language section is also planned for launch in the near future.
The platform publishes news and the official positions of the PUK, delivering professional journalism based on accuracy, credibility and reliable sources. Through news reports, features and other journalistic content, PUKMEDIA remains committed to providing trustworthy information while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and respect for its readership.
PUKMEDIA was established on 22 January 2003 following a decision by the PUK Bureau of Media and has remained in continuous operation ever since. It was initially launched in Kurdish and Arabic, with additional language services introduced over the years.
Today, PUKMEDIA has entered a new phase of development, serving as the official and trusted platform for publishing the news and official statements of the PUK in Sorani Kurdish, Kurmanci Kurdish, Arabic, English, Persian and Turkish. The platform also operates a dedicated Badini-language Facebook page, alongside its official presence on YouTube, Instagram, X, Facebook and Telegram.
Since its establishment, PUKMEDIA has played a significant role in covering key developments in Iraq, including the country's liberation process, becoming a trusted source of news for numerous Arab and international media outlets. It continues to uphold the highest standards of accuracy, credibility and professionalism as the official media outlet of the PUK.
