PUK President Calls for National Efforts to Keep Iraq Out of Conflict

President Bafel meets Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani in Baghdad.

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), met with Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani, leader of the Reconstruction and Development Coalition, in Baghdad.

During the meeting, which was attended by Dr Khalid Shwani, Supervisor of the Political Bureau in Baghdad, both sides emphasised the need for continued coordination among all parties to overcome political and economic challenges and maintain the stability of the country.

President Bafel reaffirmed his support for national efforts to keep Iraq out of conflicts, stating: “It is our collective duty, in these circumstances and in the interests of safeguarding the country’s higher interests, to support the Iraqi government in strengthening the foundations of governance.”
