President Amedi Receives US Chargé d’Affaires in Baghdad.
Iraqi President Nizar Amedi received the US Chargé d’Affaires, Joshua Harris, at the Salam Palace in Baghdad on Wednesday, 26 August 2026, on the occasion of the conclusion of his tenure in Iraq.
During the meeting, President Amedi reaffirmed Iraq’s commitment to further strengthening relations with the United States and expanding areas of bilateral cooperation in line with the Strategic Framework Agreement between the two countries. He also stressed the importance of enhancing partnership and coordination on issues of mutual interest.
President Amedi expressed his appreciation for Harris’s efforts during his tenure in Iraq and wished him success in his future endeavours.
For his part, the US Chargé d’Affaires expressed his gratitude to President Amedi for the support and cooperation he received during his time in Iraq. He underscored the importance of continuing joint efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and broaden cooperation in ways that serve the interests of both countries.
