Kurdistan Region Celebrates 77th Anniversary of the People's Republic of China’s Founding

Sheikh Jaafar Sheikh Mustafa attended Chinese National Day Commemoration.

On Wednesday, 16 September 2026, Sheikh Jaafar Sheikh Mustafa, Vice President of the Kurdistan Region, accompanied by Dara Khailany, Member of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan’s (PUK) Leadership Council and Head of the Foreign Relations Department, attended a ceremony marking the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, as well as a farewell ceremony for the Chinese Consul General.

During the event, Liu Jun, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China to the Kurdistan Region, expressed his pleasure at organising the ceremony and thanked the attendees for their presence, while emphasising the importance of further developing relations between China and the Kurdistan Region.
