Iraqi Presidency
Iraqi President Nizar Amedi.
Iraqi President Nizar Amedi extended congratulations to the Iraqi people on National Day, calling for unity and collective efforts to build a secure, stable and prosperous Iraq while learning from the country’s difficult past.
The Iraqi President's statement on National Day read:
We extend our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the Iraqi people on National Day, marking a significant milestone in our country’s history: In 1932, Iraq became an independent state and joined the League of Nations.
Looking back over nearly a century of Iraqi history, we recall the events and transformations it has witnessed, along with the wars, crises, challenges, and hardships our people have endured. Through it all, Iraqis have remained devoted to their homeland, overcoming adversity and rising again.
Our responsibility today is to learn from the past, ensure that what unites us is stronger than what divides us, and work together in a shared national spirit to build a secure and stable Iraq—a state that provides its citizens with a dignified life, better services, and genuine job opportunities.
Building Iraq’s future is a responsibility we all share. It requires sincere cooperation among state institutions, national forces, and society, with citizens’ interests and the future of generations to come placed above all else.
Today, as we remember the martyrs of our homeland and their sacrifices, we affirm that much work lies ahead and that we have significant opportunities to build a stronger, more stable, and prosperous Iraq.
May Iraq and its people continue to thrive.
Nizar Amedi
President of the Republic
