Iraq's President, Kuwait's Emir Discuss Cooperation, Regional De-escalation Phone Call

Iraqi President Nizar Amedi held a telephone conversation with Kuwait’s Emir, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, to discuss longstanding bilateral relations and the need for greater regional coordination amid ongoing challenges.

According to a statement from the Iraqi Presidency, the two leaders discussed ways to strengthen Iraqi-Kuwaiti relations by expanding cooperation across various fields, in line with the shared interests of both countries and their peoples’ aspirations for closer ties and a stronger partnership.

Addressing regional developments, they stressed the importance of sustained diplomatic efforts to contain tensions and prevent further crises. They also called for disputes to be resolved through dialogue and peaceful means, emphasising the need to prevent further escalation and safeguard regional security and stability.
