PUK Attends Fourth Korean Cultural Festival in Sulaymaniyah

PUK and Korean officials at the 4th Korean Cultural Festival in Sulaymaniyah.

Dara Khailany, a member of the Leadership Council and head of Foreign Relations of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), attended the 4th Korean Cultural Festival in Sulaymaniyah on Saturday, 17 October 2026.

The festival was organised by the Consulate of the Republic of Korea in Erbil in collaboration with ITALK, providing an opportunity to showcase Korean culture, arts and traditions and promote cultural exchange between South Korea and the Kurdistan Region.

The PUK emphasises the importance of cultural diplomacy in bringing nations closer together and strengthening international relations. The party has consistently supported joint cultural activities and programmes aimed at expanding such exchanges.

Events of this kind help strengthen cultural ties, promote mutual understanding and create opportunities for people from different backgrounds to learn about one another’s traditions and heritage.

The participation of political and diplomatic representatives also highlights the role of culture in fostering friendly relations, cooperation and mutual understanding among nations.
