Two Arrested on Suspicion of Terrorism Offences in Spain’s Basque Country

Two Spanish nationals, a 34-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, have been arrested on suspicion of terrorism-related offences in Spain’s Basque Country, regional police said on Sunday.

The arrests followed a police search on 26 September, during which officers seized information relating to security forces and the possible location of a site believed to contain materials, potentially including weapons and explosives, according to the Ertzaintza, the Basque regional police force.

Authorities have not confirmed whether the suspects remain in custody. Both are expected to appear before Spain’s National Court at a later date.
