Iraq’s oil exports have exceeded 3.4 million barrels per day this month, with shipments transported through three routes, including the Strait of Hormuz, Oil Minister Basim Mohammed Khudair announced on Monday.

Speaking to the Iraq's state media (INA), Khudair said the country was exporting oil through the Strait of Hormuz, Türkiye’s Ceyhan port and tanker trucks travelling through Syria.

He explained that, despite wartime conditions affecting the Strait of Hormuz, the Ministry of Oil had maintained average exports of 3 million barrels per day over the past nine months through round-the-clock efforts by the State Oil Marketing Organisation (SOMO), noting that since the beginning of October, the daily export rate has risen to more than 3.4 million barrels.

Khudair said the ministry was working to expand export capacity to increase state revenues, enabling the government to meet its obligations and cover public expenditure.

He added that Iraqi oil exports were destined for markets in Europe, Asia and the United States.
