Shanaz Ibrahim Ahmed received Kurdish politician Ilham Ahmad from Western Kurdistan [Rojava] at her private office in Sulaymaniyah to exchange political views and discuss efforts to safeguard the legitimate rights of the Kurdish people.

The meeting focused on the current political and administrative situation in Syria and West Kurdistan. The discussions also covered the Kurds’ position within the wider regional political landscape, efforts to safeguard their fundamental rights and promote regional stability, ways to improve governance and administrative practices, and the importance of women’s active participation in politics and state institutions.

The two politicians also emphasised the importance of recognising and protecting the Kurdish language and culture, as well as establishing clear mechanisms to implement decisions that remain unfulfilled on the ground.
