Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), has issued a congratulatory message marking the 37th anniversary of the founding of the Zhnan-Women’s Union of Kurdistan.

The following is PUK President's message:

To the General Supervisor and Members of the Zhnan-Women’s Union of Kurdistan,

On the occasion of the 37th anniversary of the founding of your Union, we extend our warmest and most heartfelt congratulations and wish you continued success and further achievements.

The history of the Zhnan-Women’s Union of Kurdistan and its outstanding contributions clearly demonstrate that your organisation has been, and continues to be, a strong pillar in the struggle to defend women’s rights. It is an integral part of our people’s legitimate struggle and the proud history of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.

We commend you for the new initiatives and progressive programmes you have introduced to advance your mission and better serve women. We are confident that the new strategy you have developed will mark an important turning point in supporting the fulfilment of women’s legitimate demands in our country.

Guided by our firm convictions, we in the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan will always remain committed to defending your rights.
