PUK Politburo Honors Ibrahim Ahmed, Marking 26 Years Since His Passing

The Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) has issued a message marking the anniversary of the passing of the prominent activist and political figure, Professor Ibrahim Ahmed.

The statement reads as follows:

On the anniversary of the passing of the writer, lawyer, and leading political figure of our people, Professor Ibrahim Ahmed, we pay tribute to a committed fighter whose works, written in a dark era, became a guiding light for Kurdistan.

In addition to his work as a lawyer and judge, Professor Ibrahim Ahmed played a key role in the development of Kurdish language and literature, paving a new path for future generations of writers and activists by combining literature and poetry with political thought.

His commitment to renewal and progressive ideas made him a leading figure in revitalising party activity and advancing the progressive Kurdish struggle.

Today, as we mark 26 years since his passing, his journalistic and literary works, along with the fruits of his intellectual and political struggle, remain firmly etched in the memory of our people.

We salute the soul of Professor Ibrahim Ahmed, and his memory will remain eternal.
