PUK President Highlights Ibrahim Ahmed’s Enduring Legacy

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), has issued a message marking the anniversary of the passing of the prominent political figure and activist, Professor Ibrahim Ahmed.

The statement reads as follows:

Twenty-six years have passed since the passing of our people’s esteemed politician, activist and writer, Professor Ibrahim Ahmed.

Today, we proudly honour the legacy of more than half a century of political and intellectual struggle by this great leader of our people, who was one of the foremost figures in the national liberation movement.

At this difficult time, we are more than ever in need of Professor Ibrahim Ahmed’s wisdom and vision, which should serve as a foundation for our collective efforts and the unity of our people, in order to safeguard our people and our homeland.
