PUK President Welcomes Presidential Vote, Thanks Participating Parties

PUK President, Bafel Jalal Talabani.
Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), issued a message following the election of the President of the Republic of Iraq, expressing his appreciation to all parties involved in the democratic process.
In his statement, President Bafel said: “Firstly, I extend my thanks to President Dr Abdullatif Rashid for his dedicated service and leadership during challenging times. Together with the First Lady, he served Iraq with distinction.”
He continued: “We now have a new President, a member of the PUK and a student of Mam Jalal’s school, Nizar Amedi. I offer you my congratulations, Mr President. The PUK reaffirms its commitment to all Iraqi citizens to uphold the Constitution and to ensure that the President works alongside the government and the people for a brighter future for Iraq.”
He added: “Mr President, I am pleased to see one of Mam Jalal’s students in this position today. We will work diligently to carry forward his legacy and complete his vision for Iraq. We will cooperate with all components of Iraqi society and deliver services to all without discrimination.”
President Bafel concluded by thanking all parties who took part in the democratic process, stating that it demonstrates Iraq’s ability to take significant decisions despite current challenges. He also expressed gratitude for the confidence placed in the PUK’s candidate, reaffirming the party’s belief in a united and sovereign Iraq and its enduring commitment to the people.
