Qubad Talabani, Supervisor of the Secretariat Bureau of President Mam Jalal, has affirmed that the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) is prepared to deal with all possible political scenarios.
Speaking at a press conference during a ceremony marking the exchange of positions among several PUK officials, Talabani said there is currently no information regarding an upcoming meeting between political parties to discuss the formation of the new government cabinet [Kurdistan Regional Government], noting that the situation remains unclear and without a defined timeline for future steps.
He added that the PUK’s influence is not measured solely by the number of parliamentary seats it holds, but also by its long political history, popular support, and established alliances.
He further stated that under the leadership of Bafel Jalal Talabani, the party’s policy is based on openness and building balanced relations with various political forces, including the Gorran Movement [Change Movement].
Talabani concluded by stressing that the PUK is dealing with the current political reality and is prepared for all options and developments in the coming phase.
