PUK President Reaffirms Support to Students in Congratulatory Message to KSA

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), congratulated the Kurdistan Students Association (KSA) on their Golden Jubilee founding anniversary, reaffirming support to their struggle and calling upon them to be the true voice of students without discrimination to light the path for future generations.

The PUK President's message to the Kurdistan Students Association read:

Dear Students,
Torchbearers of the path of education, science and patriotism,

Today we mark a historic day and an important turning point in the history of the liberation movement of the people of Kurdistan, as well as the student and youth movement. The anniversary of the establishment of the Kurdistan Students Association is not merely the commemoration of a professional organisation, but a tribute to a great institution that has nurtured dozens of leaders, intellectuals and activists, and has always stood at the forefront of defending the legitimate rights of our people, students and youth.

The Students Association was founded during a difficult period of armed struggle in the mountains, with the aim of uniting the voices of students and transforming the energy of young people into an effective force for freedom and democracy. For that reason, students did not remain only in classrooms, but in the mountains and cities, in underground struggle, organisations, marches, protests, prisons and uprisings, they proved that knowledge and struggle are two inseparable principles.

On this day, we proudly pay tribute to all the martyred leaders and students who turned their pens into weapons and gave their blood so that we may continue our civil and democratic struggle in the shadow of freedom.

We also extend our gratitude to all those loyal and dedicated individuals, past and present, who devoted their time and energy to preserving this professional organisation as a stronghold of science, education, learning and Kurdish identity.

At this stage of renewal and work, I call upon you to be the true voice of students without discrimination, to light the path for future generations, and to move forward with hope and determination.

On this day, I assure you that I will always be proud to stand with you, the students and youth, and to support you in the cause of innovation, education and the advancement of the educational process in our country.

I believe in your energy and your abilities. I am certain that the future belongs to you. The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan is open to you.
